 Background

With the continuous expansion of the global furniture market, solid wood furniture and wood-based panel type furniture, as the two main types of furniture, are facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges in development. Solid wood furniture is favored for its natural texture and environmental characteristics, while wood-based panel type furniture wins market share with its cost-effectiveness and design flexibility. At present, the manufacturing technology of solid wood and wood-based panel type furniture is undergoing rapid innovation and development. Technological innovation has driven the transformation from manual to CNC machines, intelligent production lines, improving production efficiency and product quality, while reducing material waste and environmental pollution. Driven by environmental regulations and consumers' demand for a healthy lifestyle, sustainable development has become a key to the industry. 

In order to promote the innovative application of wood processing technology and mechanical equipment in the furniture industry, and to promote the development of the industry in a more efficient, environmentally friendly and intelligent direction. Under the framework of the Global Legal and Sustainable Wood Industry Summit 2024 (GLSTF2024), the Forum continues to be held in Macau to continue to contribute to these goals.

 Purpose

The Sub-forum 3 aims to strengthen contacts, cooperation and exchanges between upstream and downstream furniture stakeholders, it will provide in-depth industry insights for related companies from the aspects of technological innovation, mechanical equipment, industrial integration, environmental protection, and sustainability, and promote the sustainable development of the industry.

The Sub-Forum 3 will invite 200 renowned domestic and foreign scholars, experts, leading enterprises in the home and furniture industry, R&D companies of new technologies and equipment, and representatives from related business associations to attend this event.

 Anticipated results

1) Integrate advanced technology and equipment from around the world and within China, advocating for exemplary enterprises to expand internationally, thereby enhancing and upgrading the global timber and wood products industry.

2) Concentrate on the supply chains of panel and solid wood furniture, filling gaps and complementing the existing structure, leveraging the conference platform to transition from exporting products to exporting production capacity, thereby reinforcing international collaboration on supply and demand.
