Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum, GLSTF 2025

From Forest to Home – An International Dialogue on Emerging Consumer Trends and Supply Chains Innovation

 

23-24 September 2025,

MGM COTAI, Macao SAR, China

 

The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of Macao SAR, China are partners to co-host the Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum (GLSTF) to accelerate the development of legal and sustainable timber and wood products supply chains. As an annual collaborative international platform, the GLSTF 2023 and the GLSTF 2024 were held in Macao, China in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

The GLSTF 2025, which is scheduled on 23-24 September 2025 in Macao SAR, China, will aim at further strengthening and promoting legal and sustainable timber supply chains.

Co-hosts & Organizer

The GLSTF 2025 will continue to be co–hosted by ITTO and IPIM and organized by the GGSC Secretariat.  The  specialized  sub–forums  will   be  organized   by  ITTO,  IPIM  and  the  GGSC Secretariat in collaboration with partner agencies.

Forum Structure

The GLSTF 2025 will comprise the following components:

  1. The Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum (main forum).
  2. Four Specialized Sub-forums (sub-forums).
  3. A Legal and Sustainable Timber Industry Display
  4. Other Events & Activities
Theme & Topics

The theme of the GLSTF 2025 will be “From Forest to Home – An International Dialogue on Emerging Consumer Trends and Supply Chains Innovation”.

The main forum will discuss topics related to emerging perspectives on global forest and timber  supply  chains,  the  evolution  of  consumption  trends   in  global  timber   products, furniture & home furnishings markets, and the linkages between supply chains innovation and enterprise vitality and sustainability.

The specialized sub-forums will be organized by ITTO, IPIM and the GGSC Secretariat with partner agencies, contributing to the respective theme, with selected topics on timber legality and  sustainability;  sustainable  timber  resources,  markets  and  trade;  market  trends  and industry innovations in furniture & home furnishings; green finance and innovative facilitation measures.

Legal and Sustainable Timber Industry Display

A legal and sustainable timber industry display will be organized in parallel with the GLSTF 2025, at a scale of around 30 exhibition booths.

Other Events & Activities

The latest achievements of the Global Timber Index (GTI) and the Blockchain-based Timber Tracking System (BTTS) as well as others will be released at the GLSTF 2025. Other business activities and side events, such as B2B matchings, will be organized accordingly.

Participants

The GLSTF 2025 is expected to attract around 700-800 participants from wood enterprises and trading companies, industrial and business associations, governments, international organizations, research institutions, etc.

Languages

The GLSTF 2025  main forum will feature simultaneous  interpretation  in  Chinese,  English, French, Spanish  and  Portuguese.  The 4 Specialized Sub–forums will feature simultaneous interpretation in Chinese, English and French.
