GLSTF brings together timber associations representatives and industry experts from around the world on a yearly basis, providing a high-end exchange platform for the private sector of various countries. During previous forum exchanges, participating representatives from associations became aware of the necessity for establishing an inter-association collaborative network within the GLSTF framework for information sharing and deepening practical cooperation.

Building on GLSTF 2026, it is proposed to launch the Global Timber Association Network (GTAN), which will be on a voluntary basis, and opens to timber associations participating in GLSTF. This network aims at strengthening information sharing among participating timber associations, promoting exchanges and cooperation, expanding market opportunities, while enhancing forum participation for sustained and stable development of GLSTF.
